2. JOB SUMMARY:

The Business Development Officer owns the top of Niyat's commercial funnel. The role generates and qualifies demand, scouts tenders and external opportunities, and manages the website as the lead-capture channel, feeding a qualified pipeline to the sales team. It is the connective role that ties the lead sources together: inbound web enquiries, outbound generation, tender portals and partnership opportunities. It underpins the pipeline-coverage and tender-win targets on which the commercial plan depends, and currently has no owner.

3. Job Description

• Generate and qualify inbound and outbound leads; run outreach and campaigns; hand qualified leads to sellers.
• Monitor tender portals and sources; identify and shortlist tenders worth bidding; brief the tender and sales teams.
• Identify external projects, partnerships and consortia Niyat can join; research target accounts and sectors.
• Own the website for enquiries, forms, content updates and lead capture; ensure leads are captured and routed.
• Track lead sources and conversion; report pipeline coverage; coordinate with Revenue Operations.

4. Required Qualifications

Education

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field. 

Experience

• 2 to 4 years in business development, lead generation, or bid and tender coordination. 
  
• Familiarity with tender processes; CRM and web lead tools; research skills; basic web content management. 
  
• Professional working proficiency in English and Amharic, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of the Ethiopian tender landscape; digital marketing and lead-generation tools; CRM administration.
